UPDATE - Coffee Cup Mini Hat

*********** NOTE: The updated post is just beyond this original one with a completed project! Yah me! ******************

This is pretty much my Ode To Coffee and very much still a work-in-progress (WIP). I haven't decided on the final shape yet but I'm pretty sure it will have a coffee collar of some sort and the saucer will be trimmed out.

It might take some time to finish this one, though, because I keep starting over on the swirls and handle. :)

How do you like YOUR coffee?

UPDATE: Well, the swirls weren't working out for me. They kept falling over so next time I'll use a stiffer material like poster board or something like that. Instead, I modified the design a little and added Persian Needlepoint and Crewel Wool yarn as a trim (it's by Bucilla - 40 yds, 3 ply (3-40yd strands). The label says the yarn is "permanently mothproofed" and "hand washable" imported virgin wool.

Crafting is about the only thing I'd use scratchy wool for as I haven't found a wool I like working with yet unless it's a blend. Anyways, I used the I Love That Yarn by Hobby Lobby for the weird little spoon on top and had some fabric from an old shirt that I used for the "coffee" inside. A crocheted coffee collar finishes the piece.

What will I create next? I don't have any idea LOL
